🇩🇪 Ausbildung in Germany

What is Ausbildung?
A dual vocational training system (duale Ausbildung) combining theoretical instruction at vocational school (Berufsschule) with paid on-the-job training at a company.Depending on the study stream the training spans between 2 to 3.5 years, (e.g., 2–2.5 years for retail; 3–3.5 years for technical or healthcare sectors).

🔍 Key Requirements

  1. Education: Equivalent to German Realschulabschluss (typically Indian Class 10 or 12)
  2. German Language Proficiency: At least B1 level, though for some roles (like healthcare or customer-facing jobs) B2 is highly preferred

  5. Visa Documentation: Includes the contract, German language certificate, school certificates (translated and legalized), proof of finances or sponsorship, health insurance, and passport documents

đź’¶ Financial & Employment Benefits

  • Stipend during training: Ranges from €800 to €1,400 monthly, increasing each year, with higher pay in fields like IT or healthcare
  • Tuition: Ausbildung programs are tuition free—you earn while studying

🎯 Career Trajectory

  • High chance of being hired by the training company after completion—though not guaranteed, many successful trainees continue onwards as employees
  • PR Path: After completing Ausbildung and working for approx. 2 years full-time, graduates become eligible for permanent residency (PR) in Germany
  • You must first secure a company willing to train you—Ausbildung is not centrally assigned like university admissions
  • Without German B2, employers may not even consider international applicants—language competence is critical
  • There is no full guarantee of job placement, though motivated high-performing trainees are often retained
